Education Resource: Researching Poverty

The Joseph Rowntree Foundation and the Society of Editors are pleased to introduce a new web-based resource on Reporting Poverty in the UK.

The resource aims to help educators and students appreciate the issues involved in reporting poverty. It draws on our guide, JRF research and input from twelve discussion events held across the UK in 2007-09 involving more than 200 members of the media, education and voluntary sectors, and a number of other sources. Materials, including short films and other resources, are available on the JRF’S new Reporting Poverty website.

JRF is also working with the UK Coalition Against Poverty to help journalism course providers to locate relevant speakers and make links with relevant community groups where this would be useful. For further information on this, please contact Eileen Devaney.

We hope you find this resource useful and would welcome your feedback. For more information or to give us your views, please contact Teresa Hanley, email Teresa Hanley
